Slack Alice - Slack Alice - Philips 1974

Another one for Robots for Ronnie.

Slack Alice were a quite experienced Pub Rock band from London with strong elements of Blues and Boogie Rock. Alice Spring's voice sometimes sounds like Maggie Bell but the album lacks outstanding guitar work or sounds.
Yet it's well worth a listen. More about the band can be learned here.

Artwork included.
Comments appreciated.

Enjoy!

  4. I saw Slack Alice several times in The Brecknock Arms in Camden. They were absolutely brilliant, especially the singer.

My mate asked Pete Finberg for a go on his Gibson Les Paul Sunburst guitar, and was told firmly to "f&@$ off"!

  5. Just passing through, Slack Alice used to play regularly at the Orange Tree Friern Barnet in 1974 never heard from them since the album. I wonder if Pete's stlli got that vintage Les Paul ?

  6. Slack Alice made the prospect of Monday mornings feel an awful lot better by playing the Brecknock on Sunday evenings back in 1974. Alice once smiled at me, said hello at the bar and I'm still glowing. Priceless!
